where does the power band start on a 4g63? i also have another question do the 4g63 motors run off of 3 cyl. till the power band then the performance cyl. kicks in? just wondering can any body help me ? thanks

Plus i don't think you'll have to worry about a "powerband" being N/T

They run on 4 cylinders all the time. I don't have anything else to say cause i'm alittle in shock on how to answer a question like this.

For the first question= It all depends on the setup. Give us a few examples.

Like maybe stock vs. 20G or so on. If you want to see a powerband for my car look in my gallery. It is the 311whp dyno. You will see the band. As for a stock T25 dsm, it is from about 2,500 to around 5,300. Then it falls on its face pretty much from there on. Most guys with an upgraded turbo will get a good solid power band till around 6.0-6.5k. The engine in its stock form gets most of its power inbetween there with simple bolt-ons.

I can go more indepth for power vrs. power but your question is pretty broad.


For the second question= It is a 4 all the time. Nothing super complicated like some of the newer Cadillac type engines. I have seen these. They are 8's when they need to get up and go, but drop off to a 6 when they are at highway cruising speeds. It is not the case here with DSM's.

I am sure there are a few out there running only 3, they just don't realize they have a problem.

But seeing as how that answer (Do A Search) is not acceptable, most of us would prefer people to give information worth while.


My choice to answer these questions is to help the guy/girl that has a question and wants some help. Not to belittle someone.
