I need some help installing my fmic on my 92 Tsi. I have a 21" by 9" by 3" fmic with 2.5 inch piping. I need some ideas where to rought my piping cause I am making my own. It is a side to side ic. Mainly the lower ic pipe is what I want to see. And what to do with power steering line and how to cut the bumper. Pics is what I need.

oh know you need pics but the ps line needs to be rerouted, usally to the front behind the stock location of the fog lights, with a aftermarket cooler. I've also heard of people just coupling the lines together in the engine compartment and not having any problems

I dropped(removed) the PS cooler line and opened up the driver side d-hole.

2.5" pipe barely clears it.I got some pics of the pipe but theyre from my camera phone-look like chit, sry.

This is the hot side to the intercooler.Mine has 3" inlet/outlet thats the reason for the screwy 3" turn at the end.

Still have AC.

Hose101772, what turbo are you using? I am using a 16g. I got the 1.7/8" j pipe out of summit and have a 2" to 2.5" exhaust reducer I was going to weld on the cop. I just got to fit it up and see how it works. Your licp looks very similer to what I need. I need two more 2.5" u bends still. Did your ac fan interfere with the licp? Thanks for all the info guys!

I like to keep my a/c fan intact though. But I don't think my piping will be much different. I have to run my uicp the short way (not the stock rought) Do you have any pics of that with a side to side ic? Thanks again guys!

Well if you want to keep your fan I understand, I just dont know why. I have not had an A/C fan in my car for over 3 years. The temp gauge has NEVER moved past where it was before I removed that fan. Plus It would not fit with my HKS manifold mounted WG ;)

FMIC too long to go through the D Port. :(

I want to keep my a/c, that is why I want the a/c fan. The uicp needs to be a short rought design kind of like slowboyracing.com's but for a side to side instead of their design. The reason is my air filter/2gmass is where the side mount ic used to be.

Its for a 16g with a 2.25 bolt on outlet.

With this setup I had to remove the AC fan though I still have the AC intact.Looks like I'll be running a slim line fan for the AC.

If I was going to keep the 16g I would have got a j tube and ran it between the fans but I'm going to a holset soon so this is just a patch job that can be sawed down for the holset in short order.

Also, check out the JR ebay thread for pipe routing ideas-last few pages mostly.

Ya, I plan to go with somthing bigger and dry too but, I need to make this work for now. What do you think is the best rought for the j-pipe? streit down or beetween the fans or next to the radiator using slimline? I wouldn't think having the licp right next to the exhaust man would be good but, I want too keep it short.

Yep thats gonna be too long to use the D Ports. When people loop the PS lines they just take the metal tubing out and connect the two lines together.

I have several pics of my fmic and some of my piping in my gallery. I like the design of this ic better than the jrc ic. I could not post the pics because they are to large. Let me know what you guys think. I had to eliminate my a/c fan. The intercooler cost me $240 shipped from www.Streetimports.com and the piping cost me $85 from Summit. I ordered three 2.5" od u-bends and a 1.7/8" j-bend. I got 50 foot of heat wrap for the pipes so, totally $410. I made all my piping and used the old flanges for the new pipes. I will post some pics of the finished install as soon as the pipes are cut & welded. :thumb:

Nice pics :thumb: That O2 Dump makes it a PITA doesnt it? I know all about it. I have the same type of dump tube for my HKS external WG.

heres a pic of my full set-up finished(it has a wierd color in the pic)the piping is powdercoated and the intercooler is spraypainted with a light chrome paint..I had it custom made from a semi intercooler...the intake pipe is a full 3"in,The dp and turbo are ceramic coated :talon:
