I am going to look at a buddy of mines 90-91? GSX, it has a Vr4 Galant Cyclone motor in it with like 30k on it with a new tranny. The paint is crappy and he tells me it needs new struts and rear brakes. He's selling it for like $2k though, so it's a rediculously good deal! Or so I think? I haven't tuned DSM's yet but am pretty familiar with them, I know they can pose some pretty big problems, so my question is do you think it's worth buying that and fixing the small things? Oh btw the cloth in the roof is sagging too, otherwise its not bad, I just need something somewhat reliable and AWD for the winters, and something quick! Haha! So with that in mind, can anybody give me some pointers on what I might want to ask, or if I should even bother with this at all?! Thanks a bunch!!

take it for a drive, see how you like it. Buy it and give it a tune up to make sure it in its best running condition and then fix the small things you listed. Just remember that other things can go wrong down the road and you WILL have to get those fixed too. But dont get mad or let it get to you. Take you time with the car and build it how you want to.
This might not be the easiest thing for your wallet, but you will have fun working on it, driving it, talking about it with you friends. Good luck. :thumb:

Thanks man I appreciate it, hopefully I will be able to see it this weekend, my friend said it runs fine, and for $2k it's a deal considering I have $7k to spend, one of my best buds is a mechanic, and I'm not too shabby with fixing things on my own, so hopefully I would be able to fix things mechanically, then get the paint done and start with the mods :thumb: ! So yeah, I guess I will just give it a try and see if I like it! Thanks everybody!

Check the undercarriage for visible damage from accidents etc. And check it thoroughly. Check if it smokes, and check the oil. Do a compression/leak down test if you can.
