Possible Random Misfire "Fix" for 6bolt 2g's

Well, I'm just throwing this idea out because it may be a help to some with dsmlink or any other ways to combat the R/M code. Recently my friend and I put a rebuilt 6 bolt into his 2g with the 91-92 CAS. The first week of driving, it had a CEL for the coolant temperature sensor. It would crank up crappy in the morning due to it not giving a reading to the ECU etc etc. Well he came to find that the sensor was just not plugged in. Well he plugged it in, car had been driving for a few days, and then he started getting the R/M code, he traced it back to the only thing he had done since it had been driving was plug in the coolant temp sensor. Well just to test something, he unplugged the coolant temp sensor, cleared the errors, and it's been running fine for about a week now with no R/M code. Just wondering if anyone else had anything like this happen, or it could even be a " possible fix " for it. Sacrifice a nice clean cold start up for having no R/M code, I think I could handle it.
 
if the engine coolant temperature is seen as less than -10 degrees the ecu won't check for misfires. Since there is no reading with the sensor not plugged in I'm guessing it also doesn't check for misfires.

Won't the temperature guage on the dash also not work? How is someone supposed to know if they are overheating unless they get an aftermarket coolant temp guage?
 
Unplugging the ecu's coolant temp reference while getting rid of the random misfire code will put the ecu into default fuel maps and kill your fuel milage and power and just set a check engine light for the coolant temp sensor instead of the random misfire.

The gauge in the dash would still work as its a seperate sender but unplugging the coolant temp sensor is going to cause alot more harm than just living with a r/m code.
 
Which temp sensor are you unplugging? the top or the bottom one? The top one is only for the A/C. I was told that if the ECU's temp sensor is unplugged that it would read the defualt something like 300+ degrees. Causeing it to run really weird.
