Possible MAF problem?

I have a 1g 91 Eclipse GSX with most standard bolt-ons, such as short-ram intake, 3 inch straightback exhuast, 255 fuel/water pump, 650 injectors, a new 16g turbo, exhaust manifold/headers, and a few other things. Starting today - Ill start the car and am not able to rev it past 2000-2200 RPM. No boost will spool either. Once it hits that mark the car will backfire pretty bad. The only thing that comes to mind is that my MAF could have died on me? Im going to swap my 2g MAF with my friends tomorrow to see if that fixes the problem. After i turn on the car and give it some gas, itll start the idle surge between 400-700 RPM and then eventually just stall out. My ignition looks fine, the ignition plug is in tight. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Thanks.

Sounds like a boost leak to me.Did it just start?

It may be a boost leak, if not it could be that your timing is off, it may have skipped a tooth or 2. Check that and let us know.

Yeah it just started as of hours ago. I did no work or even really drive my car for that matter to have the belt slip. I could have a boost leak. I have a big custom j pipe that has a very small chip where it connects to the turbo. It MAY be leaking from there, but, if it is, it's been doing that for a while. My friends pointed me towards the MAF going bad

if you have the money you should go with the GM MAF and Translator. also quick question what do you have to control those injectors? and if you have a AFPR

Yeah I have an apexi s AFC. An older one but it's tuned correctly.

Do you have any buddies around you that have a working MAF you could swap into your car quickly to check and see?

Yeah I do. Im going to try that tomorrow. If that ins't the problem though, what else would cause all that?

Yes - I just tried my friends 2g MAF, still got the same problem. Backfires like mad as soon as it hits 2500 RPM. We found out my o2 sensor was unplugged, so we plugged that back up and reset the computer. Same problem. He said since my o2 sensor was unplugged my spark plugs may be burnt so Im going to check those right now.
