1G Possible ECU upgrade questions

Alright, so I found the problem involving why my car won't get spark. The ECU had about 4-5 different transistors burnt out. So now I figure since I'm replacing I'm curious as to what type of ECU I should go with for optimal performance. My 91 TSi AWD is basically stock except for an EVO III 16g turbo and a 2 1/2"- 3" Down-pipe and a Walboro 255. Should I just go with the original 91 AWD ECU? Or should I get an EPROM? Anyone with good knowledge on this topic, your opinion will be greatly appreciated. If you have any idea's

You should might aswell go with an eprom ecu, because later down the road if you want to upgrade your setup, you can get the eprom ecu socketed with a custom chip or even go with dsmlink.

sounds like a good time to just make a switch to dsmlink, gives you more control so you can make more power
