I just Blew my head gasket 2 weeks ago i fixed it myself. The problem is before it blew i was Spiking at 16psi and going down to about 14.5 To 15 psi. Now after i put the Head on tightened everything up. Drove around before boosting. When i first did step on it, the car spiked at 16 then dropped down to 12. Now i asked my friend he said the wastegate effects the boost which i knew, but i didn't take the manifold or the turbo off to the take the head off. I was wondering reading some other posts if the Intake manifold was leaking if this would cause it. I'm thinking maybe one of the bolts are tight enough. i would figure that would effect the idle of the car making rev up and down. Or in some other posts people have said that they put some vacuum lines on backwards on in wrong spots. i didn't take the intakemanifold off the car either so i didn't have to take off any of the vacuum lines back there. The only ones i took off were the ones near thermostat housing. Maybe i put them on wrong. So i was wondering if the intake manifold leaking cause the boost leak like that. The Vacuum hoses near the thermostat housing maybe being wrong would effect it? If someone Could please help that I would really appreciate it Thanks
. My friends bringing over some feeler guages if i spelt that right and a tech's Straight edge to check the head. I got one more question i know this is going kinda off subject. Do Arp Head Stud Nuts have a diffrent Torque rating then the stock Head studs and Do i have to pre stretch them before i torque them straight down. If you can answer For me that would solve 1 Problem of why it probably blew. Thanks Boss. you've been awesome help
