I'm about to install my EVOIII in my 2G. I'll be running the turbo with a XSpower FMIC, stock fuel injectors for now and Apexi AVCR.

I have heard many people talk about the EVOIII having creep. Should I port my turbo before I install it? Im looking to run 650cc, S-AFC, wideband, and maybe about 18psi.

If so should I try it my self or is there anyone in the south west Virginia area who can do that?

My exhaust mods are GT manifold, stock dp,stock cat and 3"cat-back. I plan on running 3"dp and 3"testpipe.

IMO, 650s are a little much for tuning with an S-AFC. Maybe try EVO VIII injectors which are 560s but supposedly flow more like 580s. They would be a hell of a lot easier to tune with expecially since youre gonna be running a S-AFC (I also recommend you getting a logger go along with the safc). I dont see how people get rid of creeping by porting the turbo...Ive never heard of that. Do you have the 34mm flapper? or the turbo clipped? Supposedly those things prevent creep. I would install it...every car is different. Ive heard that EVOIII 16g's dont hold boost till redline in some cases. It varies...so just go with it how it is and see.

I ported an evo3 myself on an old car of mine. I made sure that I spent most of my time porting around the wastegate entrance and exit. In the end I could hold 9psi all day long, the car had a straight through 3" exhaust too.

Yes you can get rid of creep by porting, you pay special attention to the inlet area above the WG port, inlarge the flapper hole & remove/angle the wall thats jets out on the WG outlet side, right where the the exhaust is going to flow through the WG hole.

I run the 34mm flapper on my turbo & have no issues with it blowing open & I've run up to 22 psi. If you do find it blowing open put a couple washers under the WG mount to preload it. The lowest I've tried was 12 psi & I can run that with no creep.
