Here's a few 3rd gear pulls. One thing I"m confused by is how my logger shows a different timing value than the excel file. My logger shows me around 2 degrees TIMA at WOT, 6000rpm, while the excel file shows 18 degrees!?

These are 3rd gear pulls on 92 octane, 11psi, -5 degrees celcius outside temperature.

looks like your TPS isn't adjusted properly. The ecu doesn't go into closed loop until the tps hit 85 or 90%....can't remember which one.

If the ecu doen't go into closed loop, it still relies on the O2 sensor for feedback.

You need to adjust your TPS so it reads 100% at WOT. Once you do this, you should see your knock values go down and timing go up.

I really can't imagine you would be knocking that bad at only 11 psi, unless you have some other issues such as failing injectors.

Just out of curiosity, do you have the safc zero'd out?

WHile I aggree that this TPS seems off your information is incorrect.

First the two modes are closed and open loop, where closed loop is when the ECU uses the O2 sensor and open loop doesn't. The car is normally in closed loop at idle and during cruise. There are several conditions that will trigger the ECU to switch to open loop, TPS value is one, the actual threshold value depends on engine RPM but it's usually less than 50% throttle to cause the switch from closed to open loop.

It's probably stock.. I have a brand new oem one sitting in my room. I'll put it in and log some more pulls.

Also - you'll notice when i'm off the throttle completely, my TPS reads 12.5%. I have tried absolutely STOMPING the pedal to the floor, and I can get it to hit 94%. I think the TPS is fine.
 
LOL...I pictured you rearing back and then trying to put your foot through the floor.

Is your AFC zeroed out? Add airflow to your next log so we can see if that is straight or not.

Still not right.
Reset the TPS to read 10% at idle and adjust the cables so that there is a a little slack but not more than 1/8" at idle. Then clean out whatever mats or whatever are under the pedal.
Make sure the the IPS is closing at idle and opening almost as soon at the throttle starts opening.

Hmm ok. I know its not right, but I don't think the TPS issues will solve my knock problem. How does the IPS work? Does it throw a voltage when the throttle plate is closed? I'll test it.

P.S. - Anyone know my MMCD (1.8g) is showing a much lower TIMA number when I review logs on the palm? (Timing appears normal when imported to excel, but extremely low on palm).
 
I know where the IPS is, just not sure how to test if its working. I imagine when the throttle plate closes, it grounds the IPS or something to that extent? (Like the e-brake switch).

Sorry, I misunderstood your reply.
The IPS grounds the signal from the ECU when the throttle is closed.
You can test it by disconnecting the the wire and checking continuity to ground when the throttle is closed. Or, checking the voltage with the wire attached, it should be close to 0 volts with the throttle closed and 12v with the throttle slightly open. Or, on the datalogger you can check the status of the switch. (mmcd look at what the flg settings are.)
