PO443 fault code for evaporative system

I recently purchased a 96 talon TSI and the Check engine light is on. I scanned the ecu and the fault code is PO443. This code is for the evaporative system and was wondering if anybody has any idea if it has anything to do with the dejon tool air intake that is installed. When using this intake, the line that runs from the charcoal canister is no longer hooked up to the intake. I was wondering if that would cause the evaporative system code and if it does how I could fix it. The only reason that I care about the light being on is because i have to get the car inspected and it will automatically fail if the light is on. Any iput or advice would be greatly appreciated.

being emissions certified in PA, I can tell you that everything for the emissions is required to be hooked up. You will need to hook it up in some way shape or form. Also, before you go to have it inspected, you will need to disconnect your ecu from B+ (or use a scantool to clear the codes) fix the problem and drive the car for maybe a week to set readiness codes so the car will go through emissions. All emissions will look at the readiness monitors of the ECU to reassure that all aspects of the emissions system has been checked by the ECU.
