Okay hey guys, I was on the highway today and my cars RPMS dropped and bogged out. The car starts great and will rev but when I let it idle it bogs out. This happened before and I took my car to nate silervi and he told me the Stock SMIC pipping below the intake cracked because im running higher psi then it could take and he replaced it. I can't find a diagram of the SMIC piping and I found an open vent right to the uper right hand corner of my air filter and below the fuse box, is anything supposed be running through here. Ive attached some pics. Right below where my finger is pointing. Nate did tell me the piping could crack or pop off and to get hard piping. But first I have to diagnose if its the problem.:hmm: thank you

Originally, when the car had the stock airbox (the big black plastic box with the square style filters) it had a little elbow that connected to that area to bring in fresh air that wasn't from the engine bay. With an open air filter like you have now, you shouldn't have anything connected there, unless of course you wanted to and fabbed something yourself to fit.

That hole is where the factory air box pulls air thru. To know anything about where it might be leaking you will have to do a boost leak test.
