Alright guys i am about to give up. I have been messing with this 91 GSX for about a year now and anything and everything that could go wrong did. I am not going to bore everyone with the long history. What it comes down to tonight is i bought a engine to replace my old one i finally got to drop the engine in the body this weekend and i was putting the flywheel up when i noticed in the front on the block the hole for the bolt that is suppose to hold the tranny to the block is gone. Is there anything i could do the car has drained so much money out of me i can't do it anymore.... Fix it or strip it down and save just about whatever i can...

Sorry I don't have an answer but I have been in the same boat as you. I've been working on my car for a year replacing transmission, rebuilding engine, replacing rebuilt engine etc. These cars are cursed. Its been a year since I've felt boost

if you mean the little tab that goes where i circled... i dont think so... any misaligment could cause serious problems. i suppose you could weld on the piece that broke off but i doubt the guy you bought it off of threw that piece in on that deal

I would love to help but can you be a little more specific as to WHICH hole is missing? Is that what the pic you posted is supposed to show?

I can somewhat see by the front mount that a mounting hole is broken off the block? Is this what you're saying?

And please use proper spelling and grammar. It helps.

I have scrapped blocks because of this issue. I would look for a replacement block if it was me.

Well any help is great. What i am talking about is the circle that black-gst made for me. I am pretty sure i am going to really try hard to figure something out before i decide to junk it. Black95awd did you try anything with the block before switching it or did you just swap it right in there when you found out it was broke.

Ouch - that's one of the alignment holes too with the dowel circular. You could talk to a machine shop and see if any would be willing to weld the ear back on. Personally, I'd scrap the block.

I have to agree, I have spent close to $15K and three years on my 1G.
I finally got it running only to discover my $1700 Stage 5 head had a pinhole leak in an exhaust port.
Three weeks later I was diagnosed with terminal cancer! So you are right DSM's are cursed.

whats wrong with your old block... can you take the internals from this block and put them in you old block...

even if you found someone to weld that piece back on, they wouldent warrenty it and it will just be a waste of money more likely then not because if its not perfect you will have problems
