Just got my Talon about 3 weeks ago, I love it to death but I'm having some kind of problems with it. Ok, got the cel checked at auto zone. I have a bad knock, o2, evap solenoid, and a couple miss fires. Code=PO449. Anyways, a couple days ago my throttle cable snapped, just put a new one in yesterday. Trust me its hooked up right, anyways i was going home and my throttle got stuck WOT and I shut the car off. Had to get it towed home because the gas pedal is ROCK HARD! WTF?? Anyways, another thing, I turn on my head lights and my SRS light comes on, and my gauges go CRAZY. The car also glitches and everything else with the haedlights on. Is this an ECU or what? Sorry about the essay but I need my shit fixed for the high school nationals on MAY 1st. I need to show these guys whats up with the DSM's! Thanks for the space. Josh

I would check your throttle cable again. It sounds like it doesnt have enought slack and that could be why it got stuck at WOT. You need to give it a little slack. But yeah check your grounds for everything else.

At a minimum....

2 from battery to fram

1 from tranny to frame
1 from intake to frame
1 from exhaust to frame

that is a minimum. The TB on a DSM is not electronically controlled. If it is stuck WOT it is a mechanical problem...no question about that.

My accelerator pedal became hard to depress once after messing with the throttle body. Found out the gasket wasn't on all four bolts and hanging out blocking the throttle movement. Check mechanicals.

Thanks for all the input guys. I found out that my ground from the battery to the fire wall was torn. I put a new one on and it runs better than ever. Thanks alot.

This will not cause the TB problem. You need to find why it is sticking or it will happen to you at the worst possible time.

The cable that runs to the gas pedal was stuck and I replaced it. Again, thanks for the input.
