plate between engine and transmission???

Does this plate have to be changed when switching from a 6 bolt to a 7 bolt? Or from fwd to awd? Seems as if one of the mounting holes, and one of the starter holes isn't going to match up.

6 bolt to 7 bolt no you don't have to change it.
But from FWD to AWD yes. The flywheel is smaller on the AWD. The starter has to have the right placement to engage propely.

The starter plates are matched to the transmission, not the engine.
