I'm getting ready to install new door lock actuators on my talon, and I know from doing the window rattle fix that there's this huge plastic sheet on the inside of the door. Does it serve any real purpose, or could I get rid of it without any problems?

Thanks!

I have mine pulled off on 3 cars i havnt had any problems i worked at best buy and installed car systems for a while and i usally ditched them just to fit in dynamat so if they do i havnt had a problem with taking them out yet otherwise bestbuy would be buying some new liners for a lot of cars...

I was just wondering why in the world it was there in the first place, really. If it's just to block out moisture, then why have windows that can move? They're going to let in moisture as well.

yeah thats my point exactly i say ditch them the only thing that sucks is that sticky black crap that holds it on there im not very fond of the inside of car doors they anger me and not just dsms

Thats pretty bad cause when i got my car i was the first to open them up and there was nothing but dust behind them, i guess buying a car that was sitting for 6 years wasnt the best idea...

They are there to keep dust out.

What he said and to keep the wind and cool air that slips by the hole for the door handle and lock and where ever else the cold can com in. Correct it is also a moisture barior. It serves a great purpose but is not needed. I wish my civic had it in the drivers door becasue it leaks a ton and its -8 today and the heater could hardely keep up because that was not in there. but if your in a worm climat it makes no difference other than the dust can come in.
