i just bought a 95 gsx and the plastic cover that covers the belts are gone? is that bad for the engine or is it fine?.. looks like he just broke it off
 
If you're talking about the upper timing belt cover that covers the timing belt, i would go buy one from a junkyard. You can drive without it fine, but you wouldn't want something to hit the belt and cause it to jump teeth. The cover is just a precautionary measure though, do what you feel like doing.

i agree id go get one.. you can never be too safe.. especially around the timing belt if that gets damaged alot of things are affected by it
