Here are your options:

1. Verify that the cover is installed properly.

2. Leave the cover off.

if you dont know dont answer if i listen to your suggestions my motor be ####ed. i already had an apointment and i found out that one of my belt tentioners broke and things are getting loose. 550 bucks to fix. ouch

You said your cam sprockets are rubbing on the cover, that indicates to me the cover is not installed properly. Your options were to verify the cover was installed right (i.e. bolted down in all the correct places), or to leave it off. You provided absolutely no other information regarding the condition of the entire timing belt system, so how am I supposed to know otherwise?

Also, if you want people to continue to provide you help, watch your mouth and study your grammar. :thumbdown

On my 1g, I had a similar problem, timing belt was rubbing hood. I'm not sure if the 2g has rubber hood height adjusters(for lack of a better word). On the 1g these are located above the headlights according to my buddy (he used to work at a jeep/eagle dealership). Also you might try inserting washers(spacers) between the timing gear cover and where it bolts to the head to allow alittle more clearance. :dsm: :thumb: good luck

if i knew it was the tensioners i wouldnt asked. thats what is sounded like. i didnt say anything wrong and i wasnt mouthing. just stateing my opion . and like anybody has good grammer

Capitalization, apostrophes, and spell check will also help you.

Also, he did answer your question with what was known to us. And you were a smartass in all subsequent posts. You'll get far on this forum.

P.S. grammer = grammar :thumb:
