no it will not. I have tried to look into that myself. I wanted to get sCosworth pistons for my 420a but they just will not work. I contacted them before about making them for the 420a for me and they said for them to set everything up to do it, I would have to order a min of 40 LOL. what would I do with 40 pistons?

sell some to me:hellyeah::thumb:;)

yeah I would but I didn't order any. There's no telling how much that would have been. If we can get enough 420a owners to contact them, maybe they will start supplying them.

There are already forged pistons on the market for the 420a, why would you even consider having cosworth make custom ones that would easily cost 2 to 3 times more than the off the shelf piston.

when I had the money for it, why not. Cosworth is a big name in the f1 scene, why not try to get the same internals for engine. I my just get Cp to do them for me after my wife gets out of college in Feb.

That is an awful way to look at it. You will never make more power out of your engine than what a good set of off the shelf pistons can handle. You are not going to automatically have an f1 engine because the same company makes the pistons. You will have the same engine that performs the same with either set of pistons assuming that both are the same compression ratio.

What I was wondering: shoving high priced pistons where the results are the basic same comp ratio.

What's the logical gain in that? These little 4cyl motors are high enough in stock compression as it is, thus not making too much headroom to increase compression let alone turboing the motor to gain more.

Now, if you were doing a stock Dodge 318 with 8.00:1 compression and putting in domed pistons to raise the compression along with planing the heads to get 11.3:1 ratio with a full race cam and quad barrel carb to go along with it, then you definitely will get something for sure out of all of this.

I didn't say a thing about "automatically have an f1 engine" now did I. I would however like to have my choice of preference.

Why bring up f1 engines than and saying that you would like to use the same internals that they use in their engines. You will be more than fine with a set of weisco or je pistons for any build that you could possible imagine.

The only reason I said anything about an F1 engine is because of their ruggedness and durability. I don't see what the big deal is about someone wanting something different. Yeah I could put Eagle rods and either Weisco or JE pistons in a block and be the SAME as everyone else. Anyone can read a build blog and copy what someone else did. Sorry if I looked at my little 420a and said "what if". If I wanted a company (my choice Cosworth or CP pistons) to make a custom set of internals for me, what is wrong with that? I guess I should have done a search for the "DSM 10 Commandments" instead of trying to think outside the box a little.

Being different isn't required for results. IF you want an engine that will handle power than do what it tried and tested over the years.
