Hey I was wondering if any of you guys have a Pioneer DEH-P860MP installed and how you like them. Also if anybody has any pictures of them in a 2g please post them. Thanks

I'll be getting the Pioneer 8600MP end of this month. If you want I'll take some pics and post them. It is the same thing as the 860MP which is Pioneer's Premier model. I have Alpine 6x9s and Type S components in the car right now.

That would be awesome if you get pics. I am definately getting the 860MP but I just want to see how it looks in a 2g. Derek

You forgot the cool specs on the 8600.

I believe the 860 has the same specs but has Premier on the front instead of the 8600's Pioneer and has higher volt preamp outputs. Reviews on the 8600 can be found here http://www.crutchfield.com/S-zkMj46aXRAd/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?i=130DEHP860

I still don't know what color they are. The pic here it looks dark silver

And the pic here, it looks almost black.

Hey thanks for all the specs, I should have posted that up. Also the Premier version has 6.5v preouts and a couple of other minor things, nothing to major. But man it is a sexy deck, I just got done playing with one and wow it has more settings and the sound quality with burr brown processors is out of this world. Seriosly the deck power sounds as good as some 4ch amps. I will have one by the end of this month hopefully. Derek

I was also considering this unit. Which of the 2 pictures above more accurately depicts the color?

The darker looking one is from ebay. The lighter on is from the Crutchfield archives, it might be an older model. I say the darker one SHOULD be the unit.

4 volt preouts? That sucks, the newer eclipses coming out have if you can beleive it, 8V pre-out. Check out the CD5000. The rest of the eclipse line has 5volt.

Actually the premier version is 6.5v and the eclipse is not if any nicer than the Pioneer, I played with both at Car Toys and I wasnt real impressed with the eclipse. They are both good decks but I think I am sold on the Pioneer.

No offense, but we hear that a lot selling and installing car audio. The speakers or unit may sound completely different to us, but thats because we are more tuned into it with more experience. The average person it is very hard for them to hear the difference.

Well, I just went online and bought the Pioneer Premier DEH-P860MP instead of the regular Pioneer DEH-P8600MP. For some reason the Premier was cheaper than the regular Pioneer. I'll post some pics after I get it and install it.

Yes I agree D Eclipse, but I am the type that plays with something numerous times and listens to many different setups and take into account the ease of funcionality. I have listened to almost every deck in the last 2 months and you can tell a difference between some but when you get to say the Pioneer 860mp or 960mp or the Alpine or Eclipse decks it starts to get very hard to distingiush differences on the higher end products. I believe for the price and performance the 860mp is one of the best decks right now. D Eclipse I am jealous you have that deck before me :thumb: , please tell me how you like it. I have about 2 more weeks and I will have one.

DGajre777 not D Eclipse. ;)

I let you know how I like it. I have Alpine crossovers sitting under the CD player for my Alpine Type S components and I have Type S 6x9s in the back, It should sound sweet. :D I have a write up in the Tech Guide on installing tweeters in the stock 3 1/2" speaker location if you are interested in doing that.

Oh sorry about that, late last night was tired. But yea I have already got MB Quart components I need to install and I just got done looking at the dash tweeter how to. I am waiting on the 6x9 brackets so I can 6.5 components in those too. But let me know how you like the 860, it should be fantastic. Derek

I got some night shots, here you go.

I decided to get the installation kit because I have my Alpine Type S crossovers mounted under the CD player. I made a plate out of some black plastic that I got from ebay and screwed it under the kit.
