OK,
Car is N/T, Auto with 210K miles on it. Pings with regular and mid grade fuel, with premium the pinging goes away.
I was thinking it very well could be dirty combustion chamber.
Solution:
1. Run premium fuel for now.
And the question is can I use SeaFoam in a high mileage engine without hurting anything, if I don't run it in the crankcase:
2. Put half can of SeaFoam in full tank of premium.
3. When it gets towards the end of the tank, use Seafoam on the intake and spray some on top of pistons, etc.. Cleaning intake/fuel system with SeaFoam, and to clean carbon off of tops of pistons. Go drive it hard with the SeaFoam in there for a few minutes, then go change the oil and clean the plugs.
In my opinion, it seems that the only harm in putting SaFoam in a high mileage car would be in the crankcase, loosening up varnished gunk that could cause oil starvation (IE Flushing engine with SeaFoam would be a no no).
But what harm could it cause just in combuation chamber and intake?
Anyone used it in high mileage cars?
