that car in the background is a cop.. he had a hard time believing that all we were doing at 4am friday night was taking pictures heh..

here is the engine bay when i had it mostly back together after rewiring it and changing the oil pump and intermediate shaft among other things.. that turbo is a 47 trim garrett, small npr frontmount shows vaguely through the grill in the first pic

Car looks pretty cool, considering it is an omni. are you going to put rims or anything like that on it? do you have any interior shots (like gauge cluster/console area). looks good! :thumb:

I'm sure that car is fast as hell but in the looks department it could use some work...nice sleeper though :thumb: :thumb:

I had an omni...well a horizon same thing. Tahts before i got my talon.... i had the ghetto 2.2 I-4 slowest car ever, but it was one tough beast, i had recapped oversized mud tires on it, n i went off road with it...didint do too bad except to the fact that going up a rocky hill fwd wasnt a good option, had a jeep pull me up the rest of the way LOL. Great rally/bash car. But yours looks great, wouldnt bash on that thing looks like it just came out of a paint shop :thumb:
Will it keep up with the eclipse/vr4?

shit, i saw an omni at bradenton, was near stock, the bi*** ran like 14.9 or soemthing, was awesoem to watch

hey now, i have that same inline 4 2.2 in this omni! ..its just got forged internals and a big turbo :)

its quick, ive never raced either of the cars in the pic with the glh but i dont think either of them would keep up. as it stands now its proibably at the low end of the 13's. in a month or so once the company i am going with finishes up their custom ecu im getting big injectors, an afpr/rail, 3 bar map and the recalibrated ecu set up for 20 psi. should do mid 12's on 93 with that. as for interior.. there isnt much. its got seats and the dash board and thats it.. seatbelts in the front.. no carpet or trim. plastic 7 gallon cell that i get about 120 miles out of. stainless fuel lines.. 255 pump.. its pretty decent. it still needs quite a bit of front suspension work as well so it wont be totally where i want it for a few more months, but its running good now at least :D

In the coming months I may be putting a 4g63t into a gremlin that's been in my back yard for a couple years...

Also, dude, what kinda engine is in the omni, cause it looks a LOT like the 2.5turbo in my Daytona ES

<edit>
missed the part where you mentioned the 2.2... it *IS* the same motor as the 2.5 in my daytona (the 2.5 was just a stroker 2.2) now what is the engine designation for those? I've been trying to figure out what I'm going to do with that car for almost a year now... there isn't much in the way of an aftermarket following... I've seen home depot upgrades (www.thedodgegarage.com) galore to put them cars into the 12's but no real precise tuning... I wondered if I can just get like an AEM or Electromotive or some other company's ECU and hook it up... cause I know they use the MAP to regulate fuel and anything over 1 bar would cause fuel cut... most all this info is just what I've heard, because I've still only gotten about 8 miles on my daytona since I got it... (first an ignition key needed to be made, then a flexplate replaced, then the front seats, then the front struts, now I need to replace the oil pan seal.... who knows what goes next)

OMG OMG OMG can i live with you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yep, the 2.2 and 2.5 are the same motors basically, there is an aftermarket for the turbo dodges with a few good vendors, try www.turbosunleashed.com and www.fwdperformance.com also www.turbododge.com which is a forum just like this one but without the rice heh.. the cars are old, ugly and underrated so pretty much everyone that posts over there is in it for real and knows what they are talking about.. its the best place to learn about your daytona.

im hooking my gtech up tomorrow after i install a cigarette lighter outlet somewhere so ill have a better idea of just how quick it is.. cant wait for the track to open back up :D
