i wanted to get a blow through set up but im all stock is there some way i can instal it and 0 it out so i dont have to tune it so i can run it with out bigger injectors
you can use it on a stock engine and injectors...just get a logger and you can tune....but to spend money on it just for a bov noise is a waste..use it for its purpose

and yeah thats the stock location for the cruise....they loop it around like that

you got it all wrong i dont want to blow to the autmosphere i want quicker spool time see i havent done any tunning before and i dont have a loger so can i install it and set the injector size and let it go without tunning

Just set the injector size to the setting for stock injector size, and zero it out and it should run fine. I'm still on my stock injectors, and when I had the maft zeroed out the car ran really rich but it ran okay, It stalled out at idle once and then i adjusted the BISS screw, but im not sure if that idling problam was caused by the maft. I just got my logger and I'm begining to adjust my settings, so far it's pretty easy.

Just out of curiousity I noticed that your MAF plug is in the 6:00 position. I thought that it said in the manual that the air divider needed to be verticle for the sensor to function correctly? This would require that the plug be either in the 3:00 or 9:00 positions. Is that just a 2G thing? Does it not make any difference?

Hmm, never read that in my instructions. I did it mainly to keep it looking cleaner and because I had more room this way.

Oh and the piping was made by my and my friends. I use an nt tb since my car was originally nt so the piping for a turbo would have to be different.

ok, well yeah then you can go that route, BUT i would recommend getting a logger first....the injector setting on the maft is just a guestimate on their part....and you really need to see you O2 trim to set it right...theres a chance if you do it without a logger that you will run ass rich and get shitty fuel economy or run it lean and detonate...thats just my recommendation

Just out of curiousity, Do you have a logger? If you do I would replace everything and see what your short and long term fuel trims are at idle. If they are really off, to the point where the computer either can't add more fuel (set too lean) or can't lean it out enough (way too rich), then you will need to check your adjustments. Did it work normally under mid and WOT conditions or was it simply an idle problem?

Yea i have a data logger and the fuel trims were 100%. i had no problem with mid and wot...just idle.... i will press the pedal to rev it and when it reaches back down to idle point it will cut off or act if it had a vacum problem. :dsm:

your problem is that you have a '90, the maft didnt work good on my 90 either, which is why I now have a 91 :D

You said you are all stock, that means you are either equipped with 14b or a T25, therefore your spool up time is non existent, you can probably spool at 2k. Go buy a bigger turbo and come back later for a maft. just my .02

Very true I'm on a 14b and I can barely tell a difference from before, the only advantage I gained was being able to control my larger injectors and re-routing my hks ssqv was a pain in the butt.

nothin' wrong with getting everything ready for a larger turbo though...

what uicp did you use in that setup. i have the greedy and i hate how it rubs under my fusebox. damn 99 gsx. i want to do a maft soon but i want to route it similar to yours just dont know who to go with. is it 2.5".

dejon , slowboy, road race engineering ect... there are a lot of companies. just keep checking you'll find alot of UPIC for the GM maf

Hmmm, I have a 90 Talon AWD with the translator setup and it works flawless for me. Guess it depends the specific car??

Moved mine to the glove box last night, no ill effects and much easier to use. Made my own harness rather than pay for one. I'm cheap :p Engine bay is much cleaner after combining most of the wires to one loom and running them out of site.

Edit: btw, if you do this, keep track of which wires go were. There are too blacks and two pinks and I didn't realize it until after I hacked it all up, but I hunted down a picture of where the wires come out of the box and figured it out. Learn from my mistake ;)

Sorry if I missed it but what do you guys think the setting should be on the translator if I am also running a 5-knob SAFC. I just installed a 56trim turbo, 750's, and the translator should be here today. I do have a data logger. Thanks

I installed the maft setup a couple weeks ago and damn its sweet. I dont have any pics quite yet but ill get some too put up. I had a hell of a tiem tryin to get my 650's tuned though. I ended up puttin the 450's back in for the time bein till i figure out what the hell im doin. Tuning really wasnt that difficult with a logger either 3 or 4 test runs and i had it dialed in pretty well but i havent done anny of the rpm based fine tuning. Has anyone done this part yet? Id like a little feedback before i jumo into it.

here are mine, I actually mounted the translator in my center console since the glove box is holding the MSD DIS 2.
