So I had to pull the motor because I broke off a water pump bolt (didn't have room to tap it out inside the car.)
I hadn't pulled a 4g63 completely out and I've had the car for almost a year. I am not new to engine swaps especially coming from my past and still alive s13 love.
The pull wasn't that bad after I lost two hours trying to get the motor and tranny out with the transfer case attached. If I had just taken it off like I ended up doing this project would have been easier.
Anyways we got it out in about 5 hours total.. not bad for many smoke breaks along the way and it was pretty damn hot outside. Getting it back in was more of a challenge as I had to do everything solo, the double carrier bearings for the driveshaft were really difficult to do so solo. I managed with some heavy frustrations and a handy jack.
It started immediately when everything was hooked back up. I'm a perfectionist and I redid the timing 7 times to make sure it was 100% correct. I've got over $1,500 invested in the head easily so I can deal with some easy insurance.
Sadly after I repaint the car I will be putting it up for sale, I just can't afford to not have a reliable DD anymore. I will miss her but with that being said I will be boosting like crazy for the next month while I can.
Anyways as promised here's a few pictures. The guy in them is my helper Justin.
Mods: e316g, 3" turboback, web272cams + unorthodox gears, 1mm o/s valves w/ double ti springs and retainers, ARP headstuds w/ mitsu MLS headgasket, MAF-T + sAFC2, rc550's, wally255, aeromotive adj AFPR, ACT2100, FMIC and all that good stuff -- the list goes on.
