Phase One: Body and paint

For 2009, the car gets paint.

She's being painted a Jet Black, and body mods include a 1999 Eclipse front bumper, OEM Eclipse Fog Lights, and OEM Eclipse headlights. HID may be in the works down the road.

The rear end is getting a special treatment as well. The rear wiper, washer nozzle, antenna are all being shaved off. A 97-98 rear spoiler is being added on, and the stock thumbnail is being removed. A 15% tint job is being done all around.

This will set me up for a nice body to work with. Look forward to more to come!

Are you going to paint the car as a whole? Or spray and blend the areas sanded? I ask this because my car looks shockingly like yours and I'm interested in the same process.

Hopefully you took the glass/seal out of the hatch. I will gurentee you there is more rust under the seal and hatch that will just spread again and bubble your new paint....

Just a word of advice from someone with 2 hatches that had rust in that spot.

Yes the car is being painted as a whole.

The seal will be removed and done properly. I'm getting the pictures/updates from my body guy who is located 7 hours away from me in Cornwall, Ontario.
