Finally got my Eclipse running again after months of having a faulty ASD relay. Anyways one of my buddies recently got a 94 Prelude Si with Exhaust and Intake. He asked me if i wanted to go to the 1/4 track and do a run. My Eclipse has 4 to 1 headers, hi-flow cat, exhaust, intake, performance fuel pump, MSD ignition coil. We both have stock tires and rims, would it be fairly close or does he have me? If so what can I add on other than nitrous or turbo to beat him for sure?

no bench racing. why not nitrous?

I don't have everything you have but I just tied with a 2003 Civic SI (exhasut only), so I don't believe you will have any problem with a older one. Just take him on but make sure you get all your shifts. I shift without letting off the throttle and it helps a little but you will need to practice to get good at it.

its a prelude not a civic

Ok, Well when I was stock I raced a V-tec Prelude with Muffler and Cold-Air and I only lost by about a car length in the 1/4. I am sorry if this is not exactly the same car as you are going to race but I hope it helps. Also remember to take out your spare tire and jack and also all the other heavy crap in your car cause every little bit helps.

About what parts to buy to help you, I would get the one range colder plugs and maybe some MSD wires, then just make your car as lightweight as possible becuase you are going to the track anyway.

He did say prelude, but I've heard numerous times that the previous SIs were faster than the new mini odyssey.
