im thinkin of purchasing a treadstone downpipe
i have read the like at 2gnt and that is very helpful with installation but i was wondering if anyone had upgraded to this and noticed a gain in power?
i wouldnt want to waste that kind of money
i currently have a custom peice bolted to the stock (skinny) downpipe so i was guessing that this upgrade would be beneficial, just want to hear some input
thanks

Don't waste your money.. I got a Treadstone pipe I'm using with a Star style log manifold. The pipe goes forward toward the radiator and makes it impossible to use either the stock passenger-side fan OR a slimline larger than 8" or so. You're better off getting a flange to bolt to your turbine outlet and going to a shop and having them fab you something.. seriously. Wish I had just done that in the first place, cause now I'm thinking about having a shop modify the Treadstone pipe come down at more of a 90 degree angle toward the ground.

thanks for the input
anyone as far as performance?????

it would def. be benificial over what you already have... it is a 2.5" mandrel bend 304 stainless pipe, so it is def. an improvement over what you have, esepcially since it is a sloping radius and not a tight bend.

however like stated above fitment cant be an issue, i have never heard or seen fan fitment issues, however i have personally see, AC compressor issues, where it rubs against the compressor, we were able to slightly tighten the radius and get it to clear with out any issues however.

but to answer your question in cliff notes, performance wise, a very good upgrade, i just suggest finishing the open pipe with a 2.5" piece to the cat, that way you dont bottle neck it.

Yeah performance is great, no complaints at all there. Forgot to mention the dump tube though.. like said above, it does sit right up against the AC compressor. When I get on the throttle hard, it heats up the compressor so much my AC doesn't blow cold. And when I do it for extended periods of time (like, drive like a maniac for 10 mins) the car shuts down the compressor and the AC light blinks.

I'm gonna have an exhaust shop modify the dump tube to route it into the dp to resolve this issue.

i dont have ac anyway so no compressor issue there

so is that the only issue anyone has had?

blackcotton arent you supposed to put a flex pipe at the end? ill probably get rid of the cat as well.
thanks for the input guys ill probably pick this thing up

that is the only issue i have personally seen, with this whole set up. and yes i would highly rec. installing a flex pipe somewhere in between the partial DP you receive and the cat.

ATP turbo and several other companies sell Stainless flex sections, make sure whoever welds them together uses the proper filler that way you don't have any rust issues and everything looks great for years.
