It's funny you say that. The hubby didn't want to paint it that way "because it'll look like a Talon." But I told him, "lookit... my car. do it this way." I think it turned out pretty doggone spiffy.

The rims that are on the car in the last couple pictures in the first post are the ones that will be on the car. They are Vault wheels, 16's, with Sumic tires.

The pinky/purple was part of the kit. The black is actually DupliColor Paint Shop Jet Black. It turned out really nice too. So this whole painting thing is very budget friendly

A week nothin'! I gotta get this joker inspected! It needs to be finished tonight . I think total cost of the paint plus supplies (tape, paper, tack cloth) we're looking at right about $250 total. Then it's just time and effort. That's just paint. We did have to do some body work so there's some bondo and LOTS of sandpaper used. But I think she's sitting pretty right now.

And Black... if you REALLY want to pay for all that, then sure go ahead And I think it turned out better this way than if I were to return it to stock color. Would have been a little pricier to do that also.

We actually molded the kit to the car so uh... it's not going anywhere anytime soon.

Holy crap what a headache. The clear coat that came with the kit decided it didn't want to stick to the paint. Lovely. But we got it all sanded back down, but then found out we didn't have enough paint to shoot one more layer on the car. So... instead of waiting another week for more, I ran down to Carquest and got 2 quarts of Nason's "Raspberry Effect." It's a little lighter, but the 2 quarts covered up the other paint, and this paint is more metallic-y. Got that all sprayed on, then we used Dupli Color Paint Shop Clear with one quart of Dupli Color Paint Shop Metallic Clear (I bought it for $1.95... yay discontinued paint!). It's all sparkly now (only when the sun hits it). I like how it turned out. She finally got to come out of the garage yesterday and I drove it to the gas station. Now I have to do my headliner and put my interior back together and she's good to go. I'll post more pictures here in a little while.

Nope. The 420A will get cleaned up but she will stay stock. That's my gas saver!

It's a secret. The bumper is going to stay black. The hubby just wanted to paint it seperately. But.. I just REALLY wanted to drive it again, so I started throwing it back together. So shhhh.
