Does anybody have any good tips/tricks for getting their car to pass emissions?

I just failed for the 3rd time on saturday, I got everything below the fail level except for the damn NOx. I'm still about 500 over the accepted limit for that.
In trying to pass, I've done:
Wires
Plugs
Air filter
PCV Valve
Cat

And I just put in a new o2 sensor. I picked up a bottle of that garunteed to pass stuff, I figure it's snake oil, but it's worth a shot. Any other ideas that might help me out?
I heard once that you can pull the injector clip off one of the cylinders in a fuel-injected car. This was recommended for a 6-cylinder car, though. Would this work on a 4-banger?

I know your pain. I have owned my 1g for 6 weeks. It has been at my mechanic for the last two weeks trying to get it to pass smog. I have done plugs, wires, air filter. All vacuum hoses are good, and it cannot pass. I changed the cat. I eventually left it with my mechanic, he has even tried adding a second cat. It barely failed the last time. Hopefully it passes soon

change the engine oil and oil filter and if that doesn't work then you gotta buy a new stock exhaust with cat and 02 sensor and then when you might pass you can put you exhaust setup back on. I think that nox is air so it is your exhaust or cat that is leaking or at least not working correctly. I had to go to the shop to get a new muffler and cat because my muffler had a big hole in it and my cat was messed up.
