ok so i have two questions. the first question is i heard that there is something that i can use to find out a part number for any part on my car. if this is true what is it and where can i get it? and the second question is what would the part number be for the oil cooler where the oil filter screws onto and sits against. and if i order a new one does it come with the big round gasket or where can i get that because auto zone doesnt have that part...

if all you need is the rubber gasket for the oil cooler just take one off of an old filter, they are the exact same size and shape. as for how to find what part you are looking for i use to use this but it appears that the images don't work any more but it does list the parts ans part numbers.

And here you can input your VIN to see exactly what parts are put in your car.

Personally I use this site. It uses the same engine as the one above but it has working diagrams (I cannot see them on the above site). IT is in russian, but the general stuff is in english and hey...there is always google translate :)
Mitsubishi Catalog

CAPS or ASA is Mitsubishi's parts look-up program. ASA is newer but does not allow Dodge, Eagle, or Plymouth VIN numbers. CAPS does allow these but is a bit older and may not have the most up-to-date information.

CAPS can be downloaded from this, either the Mitsu_CAPS_New or Mitsu_CAPS_Old:
Mitsu_CAPS_New
Mitsu_CAPS_Old

ASA you can obtain from a number of sources in a number of different domestic market versions. With this link, you should be able to get it:
Mitsubishi ASA JDM and USDM
Simple U.S. ASA Installation

There are also these PDFs that can help in a pinch:
1G Plymouth Laser and Eagle Talon Factory Parts Catalog 1990-1994
2G Eagle Talon (and Chrysler Sebring, Dodge Avenger) Factory Parts Catalog 1995-1996, 1997-1998
