Hey guys, I'm looking to paint my stock 1g rims and leave the lip polished (so i hear a lot of you do) but I don't really know what kind of paint to use. Any recommendations? I'm looking to go with a dark, gunmetal color.

sand out the imperfections, clean them real good and use Dupli Color wheel paint, you can pick it up at any Autozone or Advanced. It might also be a good idea to do a good base coat so the rims are nice and clean once you've clear coated them.

getting them powder coated is another option
inexpensive to and you don't do any labor
comes out nice and glossy too

Dupli color wheel paint all the way. That stuff is tough...I painted my winter wheels gumetal with a polished lip with that paint and it never scratched or faded.

i clenaed em, used aircraft stripper, then 320 grit, then 1000 grit wet sand, then painted em with dupli color high heat enamel gloss black. i would recommend primering them first and then clear coating the crap out of em when your done to protect them.
