Dsm's are rice get overit,
I just had to post this because I have been using a new product. This custom shop stuff is awesome (and affordable) because you can really hose on the clear with no fear of running it. Usually when painting around corners I get dry spots and runs but not with this stuff. I have never had a glossier finish. The clear smells different than anything I have used before. I first saw there products in 2006 at SEMA.

Interesting. I always liked the smell of clear. Don't tell me they made it smell bad.

Are those pictures of wet paint or dry paint? If that is dry then: OMG

That is some serious gloss. I want to paint that on my lawnmower and blind the neighbors.

I painted it at 3:30 this morning and the picture was taken at 12:00. It was seriously dry I couldn't even mark it with a fingernail. 2 coats or 1 cup sealer, 2 coats or 1 cup black(its weird because the black remains glossy unlike most bases), and 2 coats or 1 cup clear. I even used my base gun to clear it no reason to break out the sata. Bought the paint from TCP Global. Kustom Shop - Buy Warehouse Direct at Wholesale Pricing It was $145.00 for 1 and 1/3 sprayable gallons. Smell was just different not any less hazardous.

Thought I might add that I didn't use any reducer in the clear.

wow, that's definately high on the bling scale. Looks good though :thumb:

I really can't wait to see it when all the tape is taken off and the engine is put back in.

can you spray it on 1stage enamel paints?

As long as you seal it and sand it well you can spray it over just about anything. I used 600 grit and red scotchbrite on it.

I really can't wait to see it when all the tape is taken off and the engine is put back in.

Ask a ye shall receive. I am throwing the motor in it this weekend. 6 bolt swap

A pic of current progress. I am busy spending countless hours porting and polishing.

Please tell me you're going to do something with the valve cover on that engine. Right now, it doesn't even look like that particular engine belongs anywhere near that engine bay, let alone in it. :)

Thats actually the 7 bolt valve cover just sitting on there to keep dust out of the motor. The other valve cover is getting a fresh coat of green and black paint.

good gawd, i just got free lasic eye surgery. looks great man, you're even able to pull that green off as well with an engine bay like that!
