I have a CEL and the code read P0443 EVAP Solenoid. I know where this part is and everything just had some questions about Solutions. The sensor/solenoid is still contacted with the pigtail, however the intake vacuums have all been plugged.

I am talking about the AEP on the intake, all hoses are sealed off and not leading out or in. All the nipples on the Solenoid are just open with no hoses on them. I have not inspected the EVAP canister yet however. I was reading on here about this code and there really has not been a straight answer for a solution. The answers I found were, DSMlink and Delete/bypass (i dont have that kind of spare change laying around to throw at this CEL), or check Fuel cap and replace (that makes alittle more sense).

My main question is....if the vacuum hoses are not ran from the solenoid to the canister will this cause a CEL? I hope you guys can help me out alittle bit here, everyone has so far with my other issues. Thanks guys in advance.:pray:

My car also cuts out at 4k RPM. Almost seems like fuel cut, and my car is running ungodly lean. I am thinking it has to do with the P0443 code. I have a wideband so it is accurate to my knowledge. Just want to make sure I am on the right track, any input would be great! Thanks.

Solution
Sorry i forgot to post this in here as well. I kind of double posted awhile back.

I figured out these issues last night. I will include a small write up for anyone who may have similar issues in the future. P0443 (EVAP Emission) Solenoid is bad but not the reason for the lean condition. The following issues were the problems. Thanks!

Lean condition:

1. Boost leak around turbo (top pipe leading in from intercooler) Check this gasket really well if you have a FMIC. My gasket was not seated causing a HUGE boost leak.

2. Boost was at 26 PSI!!!! Previous owner had the boost controller adjusted the wrong way. To be clear COUNTER CLOCKWISE turns it down Clock wise turns it up! (now boosted at 15 PSI, with manual boost controller)

3...
Yes the Evap lines not being hooked up will set the CEL, no it will have nothing to do with your running problem.

ok man thanks, any idea as to why my car is cutting out? is it because of how lean it is running and needs to be tuned?

3. Fuel leak around Regulator. (tighten all fittings and clamps)

4. Wastegate actuator stuck shut. (simply remove and lubricate until unit becomes operational. If lubrication does not work replace unit)

5. Blow off valve double springs, keeping the valve from opening. (check your blow off valve by carefully removing all small screws, I had an 8-10 psi spring inside of a 20-30 psi spring. At 15 psi the valve would not open. I removed the smaller spring and the BOV started to function correctly)

These are some of the issues I had and when fixed car pulls like a wild hog! Check all of these over if you have lean condition and or boost cut. I was cutting out because of the retarded amount of boost. Anything over 15-17 psi on a stock motor will not work! I have the boost set at 15 psi now and the car loves every bit of it! Thanks for all the help guys, if the MOD will change this to resolved please!
