Overreved, but no bad noises

So like the title says, in the 3rd-4th gear transition, I accidentally slid it back into second (gearbox is new to me on this car), it over revved, but I immediately got into 4th and pulled over, manifold was hot but no grinding/slapping/knocking noise happened.

Just concerned, felt better to get some advice from the DSM guys on this.

Car is a seven bolt and the clutch is a little bad, but other wise, 20HG in headgasket stayed.

Balance shaft is removed on this car and it has a cometic hg and arp headstuds.

No odd noises came from it.

Anyone

Anyone?

No one. I'm still a little worried.

to be honest i have down shifted into 2nd at over 90mph and pretty sure i buried the tach. no problems, i just wouldn't do it everyday if you know what i mean :D

Double check the timing marks on the belt at the cams and crank and if they'[re in place you're fine. I've seen this done many times, and even my ex downshifted my car from 3rd to 2nd about 4 times in one drive and luckily she was fast enough on the clutch to save the engine.. Now when something does go wrong it's usually immediately and usually consists of a whole bunch of valves kissing their respective pistons.

Overalkl i'd say you are just fine :)

Guys, thanks!

I'm just a big worrier, as I actually give a shit about my cars. Most kids in my town race their momma bought pocket rockets. Hell a friend of mine is jobless and buries his poor SR car too 8200 everyday.

No smoking, belt looks fine. No jumped timing marks.

It still runs like normal, just scared me to death.

I've done that twice so far. Each time is kind of scared me too. These engines are tough man. ;P

I agree!

Most B series honda's will float valves at a rev that high (LS's generally, not the B16's they can handle astronomical revs)

To be honest, all the stigma about these motors isn't really true.

It's been 100's of times more reliable than my JDM B18B swapped DA integra.

Ok just did this on accident and my car stalled out and won't start. It will turn over fine but no start. Getting it towed home now but any ideas on what to check first.

No fluid leaks
No smoke
No noises
It almost seems like its not getting spark
I will be checking plugs as soon as I get home
Open to ideas
Thanks guys
