:D Ya well kim's already got plans for a timer, biger exhaust turbo upgrade...problem during the winter when the car is stored....she'll be driving during the winter my lud.....and I'll be driving my truck.
Her dad's lawyer said it shouldn't be a problem winning the insurance and loan payments.... :thumb:
 
....well after 3 months of just sitting around the red awd talon is back on the road w/ a 6 bolt swap..and running good.....hope to run by/or with some of yall soon...

i just bought a 91 laser non turbo, im converting it over to a turbo car due to a slipped timing belt- ive got the motor out, looking to buy a upgraded turbo, o2 housing,downpipe, eventually a FWD transmission, lots more..
batmobile- thanks for the tip on wiring my engine harness up making it so i can run a turbo setup-
i do have a few questions, i just bought a 90 MAS from a turbo car, i went to plug it into my 91 laser harness, and the 91 Non turbo is has a 6 pin hrness plug, while the 90 is a 7 pin, well maybe vise versa.
anyway, maybe i need someone to send me a link how to repin the harness, or maybe i just need a 2g MAS.. someone stop by and help me out,any help is appreciated!!!

i think i bought a injector resistor pack, it was on a 90 eclipse at the junk yard today, and i swiped it hoping it would work with my project... i think it will work because my non turbo car doesnt have it on the firewall?!?!?
if anyone lives near and has a 91 turbo car, i need to take some pictures under the hood, call me so i can take some digital pictures to aid in putting my car together

I live in OP and if you want to look at my car I don't mind. As far as I know the injectors for turbo DSM are low impedance and for n/t are high impedance so you do need that resistor pack.
I have a 2g mas off of turbo, let me know if you need one. I'll be doing my intake tomorrow with a friend.

yes you need the resistor pack...I got one...off that 91 eagle talon....some guy wanted it but never did email me back for it...also got the fuel injectors and rail if ya need that also brian.
Um..I don't think the 90's convert w/ 91...as far as I know they don't w/ the maf.....ya got my number if ya need any help let me know.....
 
i found a resistor pack at uwrench it along with the 7 pin maf connector, i thought that is what it was-

too bad i didnt get a email saying you guys had replied to this post, i need to reset my fields on this website-

i think all i need now is the turbo pistons,ecu, might need a 2g mas, do they flow more?

I didn't know Uwrench it has a turbo DSM. I was looking for the 7 pin mas connector until last week.
Anyway the intake is done with the 2g mas and now the car is running rough. I read that the ECU needs a couple of days the correct the fuel curves to match the increased air flow.

Uwrench is always getting differnt shit in every day..the last time I was there...someone was pulling a jdm engine out of a eagle talon
*shurgs* you snoze you lose..but who'd want to trust an engine from there??

the turbo eclipse is still there, no ecu, no maf harness, no engine or trans, not much left its been on the lot since early august- its also the car i took the solenoids, boost hoses and resistor pack off of-
ive got a guy sending me a 1992 AWD TSI ecu for my 91 FWD, will it work ok, or do i have to find a FWD one? i assume it will work.

are you saying that the 90 maf will not work with the 91 car? i found a 7pin connector off a 90 eclipse, and it fits my 90 maf no problem, i just want to know if i will be having any problems with a 90 maf on a 91 car...
thanks for the offer on the injectors and rail, ive already got 2 sets of 450cc injectors and rails with regulators.
i do need a ic, ic hoses, metal elbow that bolts to the TD05H turbo, 2G throttle body elbow, and the idle control motor???

i purchased a cyclone intake with the throttle body, and the throttle body only has one small 1/8th inch hose at the top. i was told i needed the t-body with 4 hoses at the top. any ideas? i dont think the car will have all the emissions, maybe i need you guys to come over and point out what i do and dont need?

i know im not going to be using the cyclone intake, but i will be using the throttle body if possible, since i dont have the US version of the throttle body

what do you guys think about aftermarket lifters?

i found some new larger hole lifters for the 1g and 2g- should i upgrade to these?
i assume they offer more oil flow to the valve tips and cam lobes, do you know if there is anything special besides putting them in to make them work?

You are spending a lot of money buying all those parts. I had a '93 tsi awd that I totalled but I saved the whole front end. The only problem is that it is in Wichita. I'd sell it if anybody needs the whole motor.
 
front clip as in you cut the car in half? stored in doors all this time?

The 4 top lines on your throttle body are useless. Get an egr block off plate and then block them off.
 
what I have is everything from the firewall forward. I just cut through the fenders and frame along the firewall. It does not have transmission, and I've taken off starter, a/c compressor but everything else is there including the stock 14b. It has been stored packed outside.

umm..I blocked off the egr..but don't think ALL 4 hoses go to the egr?
Do they tyler?....they go to a vacum sensor?

Just Block em all off

no, just save your money and find one for your modle car and not a 90 ecu u need a 91-94 ecu

update- cutout and 2.5" dp go on monday or tuesday and 190 fuel pump with rewire go on this sunday.
 
problems w/ putting the 1g on the 2g bov .....what am I doing wrong?
i got de flange..and now i"m trying to figure out what piping i need for it......cause it sets facing the block now...instead of the raditor??
Any clues?

ALso I'll block off the 4 vacum lines....I did notice that 2 of them when to the egr..and have already blocked those...but notice the other 2 go to a vacum sensor....soo.... :thumb: I'lll do it anywas.
