this sounded strange to me when i saw it. I kno there is a underdrive pulley (best one for the $$ is the af/x from howell) but i was on another site that was selling a overdrive pulley as well as the underdrive. Hence me askin the question cuz i dunno what it is, any info would be appreciated

Though I'm not quite sure about what your asking, I know "overdrive drive pulleys" are referencing to your alternater and power steering pulleys. A couple companies make them for our DSMs like OBX and maybe AEM. :thumb: :dsm: :talon: :laser:

that is what i am referncing to ( i am getting the underdrive pulley (af/x) from howell) and i saw on another site the obx overdrive pulleys, what do these do?

those have the same effect that the underdrive pulley has, it just takes load off of the engine that the accessories create. they are lighter than the stock ones, and maybe smaller but im not sure. but as for AEM, they only make them for the turbo models :thumbdown its a shame but its true

This is my first time in the n/t zone so someone bi*** slap me if i'm wrong. An under drive pulley is for the crank shaft. This will let the motor turn with less mass and resistance giving you more power BUT it will slow down the other pulleys. An over drive pulley is for the accesoties a.k.a. pwr. steering, and alternator. These will raise the speed of the accesories. The reason you would want over drive pulleys is if your power steering was a little hard, or your alternator was not putting out enough power. So with that said you may or may not need over drive pulleys. I hope this helps explain it better.

*you've just been bi*** slapped* LOL, jk man. You are kinda right, but it's the under drive pully that runs the accessories. :talon:

If GSGoinFast is right (I haven't looked around, no $$$ ) then you're SOL

Both OBX and AEM claim they add an addition 5-10 ponies. All they do is take strain/ work off your engine (yeah the same as the afx udp) because they're lighter than stock, but ARE slightly bigger, pretty sure thats to improve leverage. I was planning on installing a set at the begginning of next month (if obx has them in stock, the basterds barely have anything in thier Miami warehouse for our NTs[just wanted a catalytic converter, but they keep selling out]). If you guys can wait a couple weeks, I'll be the lab rat. :thumb: :dsm: :talon: :laser:
