ok everyone once in awhile my car will go to 18-20psi. i just figured eh whatever. well the kid that put the k&n filter in my car welded a spot on the hold in ring because he lost two clips so just changed the intake to a hard pipe and filter since the MAF is now a gm getting moved behind the bov. well i drove it this morning with the new intake got into it once and watched my boost gauge peg on the stop bar at like 22psi and acted like it wanted to keep going and that was only at 4200rpm... all ive done so far is replace the intake... does restriction to the turbo really change it that much? or is something else going on... im lost and afraid to play right now...

What kind of boost controller are you running?

Sounds like you are running with no boost control at all. Check your lines to and from the boost controller and see if there is any cracks or if the lines may have come off and you didn't realize it.

its a stock 14b with internal gate. and it has an aftermarket boost controller no idea what brand it came with the car...

Check all vacuum lines.

If all fails, just run a vacuum line from your intake manifold to the wastegate and you should boost around 10lbs.

to run stock boost or the lowest is to route the vaccum line straight from jpipe to wastegate, this will give you stock boost. route your bcs vacuums lines. recheck for boost on your aftermarket gauge, i'm assuming you have one.

if that doesn't help, then you might have a leak somewhere.

thanks for the advice. im going to my cousins shop tonight and getting into it to check all vacuum lines. if i cant figure it out ill just run vacuum as you have told me and wait to get a new boost controller

thanks to everyone that threw in advice i overlooked the vacuum line straight to the waste gate. must have bumped it when i put the intake on. now im hittin just the right amount of boost without worry. thank you very much.
