Boring, Oregon
I recently had some issues with my 16g (none off which im now having) so I decided to put my bep 57 trim back in. well for some reason I just can gets it to spool very good or even hit with any sort of power. I get 20 psi around 4500 rpm in 3rd but it pulls nowhere like its supposed to. Crazy thing is I only took one coupler off when swapping turbos, Ive checked it and retightened but im still in d15 mode to those familiar with hondas LOL. Turbo spins free, everything is nice and tight so my mind is blown. My 16g was spooling like a champ before I pulled it so Im not sure what to think about this... Boost leak tester diy tommorow but I have my doubts...any input

Did you retune at all? What are your AFR's looking like when you boost?

I loaded a tune I had ran 23psi with for a while (on 57 trim) and trusted for that setup, no knock retard but I spaced the arf... Anyways I fully planned to retune this weekend but it feels beyond the tune...but idk for sure, I did noticed a huge drop in airflow at wot compaired to old logs

I say it might be in your tune I know I had to mess with my timing tables before boost and after and my 16g felt a whole lot better.. Just a thought

Well if you are switching from a 16g to a 57 trim, then your tune will most likely be off. More airflow. Tune is definitely the first thing I would check.

A 57 trim is going to feel laggy compared to a 16g,but I would be willing to bet that it's a boost leak. If you have a boost leak,it will still spool the same. It's just that you are loosing your boost somewhere along the way. Did you say you have a wideband? You could be running hella rich or vice versa.

I just looked at your profile, and you should have the tools necessary to find out whether it's tune or a/f related etc.. What do your logs show?

So today turned out to be less productive than I hoped, went shopping for my wifes birthday so hopfully I can gets back to troubleshooting tommorow.Last night I noticed I had about a half a qt over on oil, not sure how I missed that one but it felt alot better this morning. I was able to build boost as I remember...slow LOL but 21psi at 4500 it just doesnt hit hard at all...as for the logs yesterday I got one, if I remember right I was moving 28 lb/min.. wot in 3rd@ 20psi. I known thats way off as far as normal is concerned. At same boost my old logs read 41 lb/min, afrs are at about 10.5 throughout wot... I suspect oil left in my frontmount from my 16g....how much, who knows. Either way ill be cleaning it out tommorow

I would say do a BLT after you clean out the FMIC and put it back on.

Well did a leak test and im peaking at about 12 psi then bleeding off, red flag LOL. I wasnt sold on the leak tester accuracy so I put a cap on it and almost hit 30psi so its working..wierd thing is I can still make 20psi when driving but it takes a while and doesnt hit like it should...turbo must be really laboring to gets me there. after spraying couplers with windex theres no obvious leak except traces off air escaping at the bov gasket...definatly somthing to fix but not my main source...ill have to try again when I have more time but seems like it might take a while..
