Ok. Here is the deal. I'm about to buy a sub. Yes one! Anyway, I've been looking at Power Acoustik FUBR 10" 1800 watt sub. And a Power Acoustik 980 watt amp to power it. And all this will sit inside a OBCON Godzilla enclosure for one 10" sub.

A link to cardomain.com with the sub I'm going to buy

All this can be purchased at Best Buy. And since my mom works there I can get everything like 60% off!

So I can the sub for about $60, the amp for about $80 and the box for about $60. :p

Oh and I already have an alarm so this time my shit doesn't get stolen!

in the first link, first it says it has dual 4ohm voice coils then it says it has dual 2ohm voice coils. which is it?
the sub box appears to be ported on the front. the sub description says it was designed for a small sealed enclosure so it would be better just to build your own box. it's fairly easy

Would be best to get a box made for the sub to spec so you can get the utmost power and sound out of it rather than giving it too much airspace or not enough or porting it when it shouldnt be.

one of my friends had 2 of those, exact same subs... and a 500w rms hifonics amp... lets just say the amp was more than enough, not really sure what amp it is that u want to get.... but 980w, is kinda over kill unless u plan on adding a couple more subs later....

btw... those subs hit real nice, especially for 10's

The box is over sized at 1.75 cubic feet. The sub wants a 1.15 cf ported enclosure. (I didn't bother doing my own math or calculating the necessary port size.)

The amp specs I just read said that it will give you 560 watts at four ohms. It's only stable to 2 ohms, so you won't be wiring the dvc's parallel. You may want to find an amp that goes down to one ohm or look for a different speaker.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll look into a custom box.

And about the amp. . I really want to stick with the Power Acoustik sub. And 1ohm amps are freaking exspensive! Is there ANY way I can get this to work? I am a complete noob when it comes to this kind of stuff.

Yes, it will work. You'll just have to wire the sub in series to present the 4 ohm load. You could seriously damage the amp if you wire the sub for a one ohm load.

And definitely check out: www.bcae1.com
