Guys...

Please provide feedback on this setup. Here is what I already have on the car, and then I added the list of parts I ordered yesterday:

JIC Coilovers
ST Sway bars
94 Brake Swap with Brembo Slotted Discs, Hawk Pads and SS Lines
Removed Foglights and installed Brake Ducts
ACT 2600 with ACT Flywheel
Taboo Fork and Longer Rod
ARP Studs and Cometic Head Gasket
Fluidyne Radiator
3" Turboback w/ Evo III O2 Housing
Eliminated balance Shafts
Sparco Rev's with 4PT Clubman Harness'
Sparco Steering Wheel with Quick Release
Megan racing Front and Rear Strut Braces
Weight Reduction (AC, Radio, carpet, sound deadning, etc.)
Falken Azzenis Tires

AEM EMS (Not yet Installed... plan on using it as boost controller and in speed density mode)
Dejon Tool 1g-QL Intake Pipe (Not yet Installed)

Here is what I ordered yesterday:

Description
Innovate Standalone Gauge Kit (Black Dial-Black Bezel)
Perrin EBCS Boost Control
Aem Air Temp Sensor
AEM 5 Bar MAP Sensor
NGK BPR7ES Plugs (Set of 4)
SBR 1G Race FMIC Tial BOV
SBR 1G Jpipe for FMIC
Tial BOV Silver
FIC 750cc Injectors
Fuel Pressure Gauge for Regulator
FTS 1G FPR Bolt On
Greddy Counter Weight Knob Mitsu.
ZakLee Corp DSM Shifter Bushing 2pc
K&N 2.75" Filter for INTAKE PIPE
SBR Cast DSM Manifold Ported
Mitsubishi EVO3 O2 Gasket
EVO3 Downpipe Gasket to O2
EVO III Exhaust Manifold Gasket
Autometer CF Boost Gauge
Autometer CF EGT Kit
Autometer CF Water Temp Gauge
Autometer CF Oil Pressure Gauge

I am thinking of sticking with the 14B since it spools very fast... if I see that I need more power I will go with a B16 or something in that neighborhood. For now I plan on porting the O2 housing and the Turbo. Do you guys think I should do something to the Turbo... clipping, increase wheel size)?

I am also waiting on the GSC 272 cams. I hear that they will be compareable to HKS at a cheaper price. I would then upgrade the valce springs.

Any other feedback on this setup?

Are you talking about "Club racing" ? (I'm not trying to be a smartass, just want to make sure we're talking about the same thing.

If so, there is no competitive class for your car. I'm basically doing a generally similar setup with my 93 GSX. If you actually want to be in competitive class, you're basically screwed over to NASA Super Unlimited. Otherwise you can do time trials for club racing (which is cool and based with a point system for mods.

BUt as for your modifications:
With the FMIC, some work needs to be done to make sure that absolutely ever last bit of air goes THROUGH the radiator.

Also I know the 4 pt harness isn't legal for club racing, I'm not sure about the seats.
You also need a roll cage...

I'm really thinking you'd know about the saftey stuff if it was "Club racing" so before i go into any more depth I want to make sure we're talking about the same thing

4 bolt rear maybe?
a cage, move the battery to the passenger side rear with an exterior battery cut off switch, a fire extinguisher, eliminate the active rear toe somehow, a helmet and other required protective gear, driving lessons, i don't see seat, but you could use the stock one with with a back brace (at least they do in the stock classes, but you are far from it)

http://www.scca.com/
i think a better idea would be to check out what classes you would be in and the rules for each instead of just modifying away and hoping for the best.

Even with the brake ducting I'd worry about brake fade during a long session. You might want to upgrade.

I'd also agree with focusing on cooling the engine. Some ducting for the radiator as well as a hood vent over the exhaust mani would be a good idea.

Even with a good set of track pads those stock brakes are not going to last very long without some brake cooling ducts. You should look into either the TCE or the Baer brake kits. Big brakes with cooling ducts are the best investment you'll ever make on a track car.

Also, I would not put a FMIC on a track car. Keeping your car cooling is going to be your number one problem. Nothing puts a damper on a day of racing like an overheated car and a popped headgasket. There are options for upgraded sidemounts that I think are a better choice. Like mentioned earlier, you'll want to add some sheetmetal to the front fascia to make sure every bit of air goes through the radiator.

If I were to build a track car again I would do it in this order...

Cooling, brakes, suspesion, Hp.

I don't want to upgrade my wheels... want to stick with 16's, hence I went the OEM 92-94 brake setup (Brembo Cross drilled/Slotted Rotors).

As mentioned above if you want to run in scca or nasa you need to first look at what class you want to run and check with all the rules. Something as simple as a boost controller in SCCA SOLO II puts you into the ultra fast street mod class.

I still have no idea what "type" of racing hes doing.. is "Cub" a spelling error?

AWD cars have no legal place to race in SCCA club racing once they have ANY engine modifcation basically. We don't fit into showroom stock because the cars are older than 10 years. We WOULD however fit into Touring, except that that requires basically no modification at all. I think if we organized with the WRX, Evo, R32, S4 and other AWD cars, we should be able to have at least a "regional" based race for AWD turbo cars. with different levels of modification I think it would be a good thing for a lot of people, however without more support. The only place to race is NASA super unlimited.

Your main problems with anything like that are going to be safety, duct/heat, and brakes.

HAHA. yeah i bought my car three days before my first ever autocross and all the car had was a boostcontroller and upper IC piping and i had to run in the STX class because of that :notgood: came in dead last because of it but if i was in the G-stock like i should have, i would have come out on top ;). Now i have quite a bit more done to the car but i wanna put some suspension mods on before i go Parking lot racing :p again

Yea I'm well into SM right now and still have plenty of room to go though so I'm focusing all my efforts there and on future hpde events and possibly SU competitiong.
