Hey everyone, I blew my engine the other week, and now finally got my money to buy new parts for it.

I'm looking at getting this: http://www.slowboyracing.com/more.php?id=2011&mods=28-2932,32-2908,34-2958

I've a bunch of DSM friends of mine say its an awesome kit, but sure enough, I have one friend here (who I'm sure will chime in) proclaiming the kit sucks and laughs at it (essentially).

The car will be under heavy boost and a 75 shot on some days. I plan on mixing in race fuel as well. I'm ordering up a FP3065 Turbo, Magnus Intake, Tial 38mm WG & SBR Tubular Manifold, upper i/c piping (since its still stock), and a 60mm Throttle Body... allready have cams in the motor, Spearco/Griffen FMIC, full exhaust, suspension, etc... (selling my old setup, PM if you would like to hear what I have and interested in it)

I'd just like to hear a few opinions about the kit, wether or not you believe "it'll snap like a twig" and it sucks or if its worth it.

Thanks everyone!

Also, which would be better for that turbo? The 8.5:1 comp ratio or 9:1

Ok first off, I noticed that you were rebuilding the motor for a 2G, pretty straight forward. Mistake number one, rebuilding a 7 bolt motor. :notgood: :nono: You want to spend all that money and you want to rebuild a 7 bolt motor, dont do it. get a 6 bolt block and stroker kit and do it like that.

There are plenty of places where you can find info on dropping a 6 bolt motor in a 2G. Mistake number 2 Aluminum rods on anything that you want to drive on the street. Not a good Idea, I would do a little research on them they are light but they are not made for prolonged use. I.E trying to get 50 or 100,000 miles out of the motor. I would go with the eagle if you dont want more then 650 horsepower or so, if you are looking for more go with crower or something similar.

The Ross pistons are ok, Wiseco are pretty popular as well. compression is going to be up to you, higher compression is going to give you a little more power off boost, but you will run into more knock problems @20 PSI on pump with the 9.0:1 then you would with the 8.5:1 setup. As for the crank, you are likely to get an argument out of this one. Some people will tell you not to go with a remanned crank others will tell you its fine. I really dont see a problem with a remanned crank as long as its been magnafluxed, checked for cracks.

As for the 6 bolt motor swap into a 2G go to google and type this in. 1g in a 2g and you will get the results that you are looking for. :dsm:

straight from Slowboys site about the rods, I went to the rods section rather then the engine or stroker with this option. read here. I dont know why they advertise the 7 bolt with the rods they are only 6 bolt from what this says.
