White wheels sounds like a headache. Plasti dip them black and rest easy. Someone scuffs then, spray over it and in 2 minutes you are good to go.

Only issue with plasti dip is its only a band aide if used it good results but honestly spend the money have them painted or powder coated use them as your show or dress up pair and find a cheap pair to plastic dip so you can have a set to whoop on. I mean it's your car but my "opinion" do it right

And don't let your wife clean your car when your out of town cause she will for some un-godly reason use brake fluid cause "it made them really shiny" until it starts eating the finish :/ till death does us part right LOL

No offence, but any woman (or person in general) who knows that little about automobiles has no business cleaning, or even driving one for that matter. However, becauz your wife (and it's hard to get rid of those), you should take the time to educate her on the basics, so you aren't pumping diesel fuel out of your car in the near future...

OP, bronze and gold wheels look the best on silver/white cars IMO. I would strongly advise NOT to do any matte colors (especially black) since pulling off matte colored wheels is pretty hard without looking like cheap $hitty rice. This includes Plasti Dip anything. Hopefully your budget allows you to buy real paint, and do things so they look good and last.

Here are a few nice examples of gold/bronze wheels on a 2G:

That is "awesome" for you!! That is the perfect reasoning to get a new set of wheels!! "Honey, you ate the finish off my wheels, now i have to get a new set!!" Lol. I apologize if you dont find my humor. Ive heard of people using brake fluid as tire shine, but not a wheel cleaner.

Oh trust me there was a long in depth conversation on........... I don't touch your straightener, makeup, clothes, and or chocolate so please for the love of God never put anything on my car again especially DOT3 on my motegi mr117 that I can't get anymore LOL and cost me $1200 new not including rubber......... she was then like, "last time I do something nice for you!" But she has never touched the car again other then to ride in it

And as far as matte finish I prefer a matte black with a gloss black car breaks it up but others sometimes hard to pull off. My plan is to have these repainted (after sand blasting the crap out of them) try and get them looking brand new but also looking for some of the chrome oem rims

Or if I could find a set similar to the ones offered on the last eclipse ever produced would be nice I believe they were a one off design/color

^those would look great, I also love the pic of the gold wheels on the 2G, lots to pick from, have you narrowed it down at all?

You can't go wrong with black wheels. That's probably why everyone paints their wheels black, because it just works (aesthetically). In the end, the only opinion that really matters is your own though.

And that's the bad thing about black wheels, everyone and their mother has them. dipyourcar.com has some really nice vintage gold plasti dip and it works amazing. My dad has had it on his Mitsubishi starion for over a year now. It hasn't peeled or chipped and he scrubs them pretty good with soap and water. Make sure you get around 5 coats on each wheel and don't wash them until a month let them harden. Letting the car sit in the sun and where it can get air flow would speed things up. Plasti dip is extremely hard to remove when it's been on for years.
