Opinion On 91 Tsi AWD

I am curently looking in to buying a 1991 eagle talon tsi awd 118k. It wont go into 1st gear or reverse, other than that it apears to be in good machanical cond. New clutch and new brake pads. Needs a paint touch up. It started rite up, ran it for 15 minutes with no problems. The price is curently $625. It is all stock. I am new to awd and want to know what to look for. I got a gvr4 tranny and transfer for it with 19k I'm going to put on it if I buy it. I road in it for short while and it pulled hard in 2nd gear and so on. What else can I check out before I decide to buy it?

check if it smokes,check the turbine for play,also find out wen was the last timing belt change done and 625 sounds good to me,i say go for it man

He didn't know any mantinance records as he has only owned it for a short time. I will talk to him tomarrow and see if he will let me check those things out before I decide to buy it

$625 is a good price if it runs. I bought my 90 for $200 running with all 5 gears Anyway, find out if the timing belt and water pump has been done, that's important.

Hell, if you can drive the thing home you can make out on hawking the parts. Grab it.
