oops wrong gear

Just completely blew my engine and tranny. I am now looking for a new enginge and tranny but I am a little straped for $. Any sugestions on where to get a good built engine and tranny for a good price? Oh yeah, should I get 1g or go back with a 2g? Not sure what I can salvage under my hood.

well since yours is blown I'd switch over to the 6 bolt 1G. Search the dsm classifieds and dsmtuners.com. Good luck!

A couple will not get you a built tranny AND engine. Maybe one or the other while keeping the other just a stock unit. Engines can get pricey in the BUILT dept. all depends on your wants. There are WAAAAY to many variants to an engine rebuild. As for the tranny, while it is not as expensive as a newly BUILT engine, it is not cheap. I paid $3k for my TRE spec FWD/AWD with a Quaife LSD and taller 5th gear. That in itself is more than a couple of thousand dollars.
