Ok, so I bought some Lucas Oil Additive (some of you hate it, I know) or at least what I thought was oil stabalizer... I got all the way home, opened it up, and started pouring... when I got about half a quart, I realized it was Gear Oil. #%&#$%*$@* I said outloud... I ran the engine and took it around the block with boost a few times and nothing funny happened with the oil pressures so I am asking you guys this...

I have to drive the car to and from work tomorrow before I can get the engine flushed and proper weight oil replaces... I have to drive about 30miles round trip... can you guys see anything bad happening?

Why did you start the car after you realized that? If it were my car, I wouldnt feel safe driving it although I have no first hand knowledge on whether or not it would be safe. If you can, get someone to take you to a gas station (assuming you need the car tomorrow) buy 5 quarts of motor oil and do a quick oil change.

1 PINT won't hurt the engine at all, even 1 quart won't hurt it.
You won't feel any diff with only 1 pint in it, and gear oil is a lubricant just like OIL, the main diff is the viscosity. Thicker the oil is the enigine will revv up 'slower', the thinner the oil is the engine will revv up quicker!
I would however do a oil change when you get a chance.
PS: I pour a 3/4 quart of gear oil in my beat up Ford to stop Lifter tick and it does work for 2k miles or so, but oil stabilizer does the best job.

Thanks guys. My main concern was whether or not the 80wt gear oil would be too thick for the oil passages etc... but It looks like it will be ok with such a small amount. Im going to get it changed after work.
