I took off my transfer case to replace my clutch. I forgot to label where all the bolts go so now im just seeing if the bolts fit tio find where they go. Can anyone help me?

Those little lunch bags seem like a silly idea... untill this comes along... now it doesn't seem like a bad idea. Sorry just giving you a hard time. It should be pretty easy to figure out. how many do you have and what size are they?

There's 5 bolts that hold the transfer case to the transmission. They are all different lengths. If you don't remember where they go, just stick them different holes at the same time. It'll take a little while of trial and error, but it works. The same amount of threads should stick through on all bolts.

sorry, I ment the transaxle case/bell housing thing (the thing the clutch/pp are under).

Start with the longest bolt, and try it in all the holes till it fits all the way in.

Then get the next longest bolt and repeat. Process of elimination. Works everytime.

Ok, i have most bolts in except a 3 or so. Two are about 1.5cm long as not that thick, the other is about 4in long and somewhat skinny. they are all shiny brass colored. Any clue where they go or were i could find out?

You can always measure the bolts. Go to a mitsubishi dealer and look at the parts mircofiche. When ordering a replacement bolt, it usually tells the length and thread size of the bolt. All will be the same thread, yet you will have different lengths.
