I just finished my build and the car was running great, then after school one day with 150 miles on the rebuild, it jumped timing when i started the car, i shut it off immediately. When i got home and took off the timing belt cover to see what had jumped and why, i found that there was proper tension in all places and that the only thing out of time was the crank ( and the everything connected via the balance shaft belt went with it). The cranks off 5 teeth and when the cams are lined up, the oil pump sprocket does to??? how could the crank be the only thing that jumped, and especially 5 teeth??? bout :barf: when i saw that it was 5

Well the car is an automatic and was in park when i did it. Should i do it in neutral, or does it matter with an automatic??

1) Wouldn't matter with an Auto.

2) Lose the Balance Shafts.

3) Don't buy the CAS causing this or the rep of anyone who would think it could.

As stated earlier, it was a misunderstanding on my be half. I highly doubt femmeDSM's reputation will ever be questioned.

Well, I went down there and we re-timed it. Let it sit, checked again. Everything was good to go. Ran a cold compression test on it and hit 127 +/- 2 psi on all cylinders.
Yes, the DSM gods do smile upon us occassionally. :rocks:

You must now sacrifice a Honda to appease the DSM Gods ;)

Seriously though that's great news. For me, my DSM has been the epitome of Murpy's law ever since I rolled off the new car lot 16years ago  :dsm:

Ill repaint it and make it look sexy again... yeah im pretty pumped, 5 teeth and no bends at all, kind of excited. now i dont have to buy new valves. Getting ready to do a rebuild on my 14b, get new injectors, install my EPROM, and give it some new gauges. woohoo.
