ONe off adjustable cam gear... :D

well, My fidanza exhaust gear is cracking in a couple places so a while back i set out to makea few center hub foirit.. here's it is 3-4 momths later (welded the toher one) and i fonally got motivated to finish it
I was gonna make a new aluminum piece inside the fisanza outter ring but i had some stock gears laying arounf an figured what the hell..

TOngiht i put the cam dowel hole in, slotted the adjustment grooves and turned a lip on it so that when i cut the 5 "webbings" off the OEM cam gear to fit the center I can put one of a kind set of customcamgears on my mitsu

They re made from 6061 -t6 alumium and the OEM gears are steal (ony hve one made as only one was letting loose0


I't sNOT perfect,and although smoothjyou cansee surfacing bit marke on itin the light..
I figured not bad for a broke asswith time and materials

I havetopshortenth 5 legson the outter gear in order to get it to backspace correctly but i'm almost there, jsut in more paing thani can work in tongith...timeto readon here

Well, after a short break and dinner i finished it

Here's it one on a head next to an OEM gear from the front and also a view from the top showing how they perfectly line up (i'mproud of yself on this one)

There's also a finished view of the front of the gear with the disk sunk in a cut OEM outter gear ring and a view fromthe back showing what's left of the webbing and how it's supported (there's a little cean up of the slots left but that's no bid deal, it's late and i wanted to relax)

All i need to do is drill and tap the steel pieces of the outer gear that go behind te "slots" for some m6 orm5 bolts and then put it on a dividing head and mill th degree increments into it (as well as make new "timing marks" that are perfectly aligned when the adjustment is centered )

wher the "finger" reach into the inner disk that's where i need to clean up the edges of those recessed areas, but like i said i'll do that tomorrow.. this thing won't go on untill i either feel like changing the cams (be nice to get a 272 intake one) or if i have to replace the waterpump or something... or if the cracked fidanza this was made to replace gets any worse *fingers crossed*

EDIT: #2 Couldn't resist finishing it off with a little drill and tap work.. found some m6 x 1.0 allens nd somenice looking bronze washers to finish it off
