My brother has a evo 8 and he recently put a new fmic into his car and gave me his stock ic. Anyone kow the exact pipes bends and such I would need to finish this off in my 1g tsi? Or better yet a cheap kit that I could get that would make it a easy install for the evo intercooler into my tsi? Any advice would be helpfull

I almost bought a setup like this at the shoot out like this for $300 last year. The guy bought a cheap piping kit off ebay and fabbed up his own piping from there. good luck.

Would it just be better for me to sell my evo fmic and buy a set up? I would not honestly know where to begin to fab my own set up. Still tryin to learn about all this stuff.

There are 1g kits going on ebay for $200 shipped, but they are long route piping and are flanged for some other BOV which comes with the kit.

If you already have the core, and are inclined to save some money I would work with what you have and start fabbing up pipes. You can get universal pipe kits on ebay, or you can pick up your own mandrel bent pipes and couplers to just fab one up yourself. Remember you are going to be getting a larger throttle body elbow (such as a 2nd gen elbow) and flanging a pipe for your BOV.

For the price that Tsi_User stated its pretty cheap. If your not up to fabbing your own kit then id go with buying one for your car. They way the evo fmic is set up though the pipes will be shooting down which might have cleareance issues depending how low your car is.

Is the long piping a bad thing? What kind of a differnce would I see from short piping and long piping. I am gonna maybe just guess that I may lose a little more boost?

From what I have been told and learned, the long route piping wont make u necessarily loose boost since it works like fluid dynamics in that the more harsh and awkward bends there are may affect the flow of air, in turn making you lose boost pressure. But just since its longer doesnt make you lose boost or keep you from holding a lot of boost. Again though, this long ridiculous piping is way more prone to boost leaks!
