Hey guys, I got a 92 talon awd turbo a few weeks ago. The guy had a hose going from the J pipe to the wastegate, instead of bcs or a boost controller, the car ran like 8 or 9 psi. it needed a new driveshaft and it went to the mechanic, when I got it back the car was boosting around 5 psi, then 4 then 2 now it cannot hold any boost, it erases the vacuum then stops at zero, I can hear air spraying almost when im driving. I searched for a boost leak, it almost sounds as if the air is spraying from my intercooler. What is a better possibility, a hole in the intercooler, or a bad pcv valve or something ? I have spent many days with this thing apart, i keep finding small leaks and fixing them, but still no boost. Any ideas?

A boost leak that bad you should be able to track down easily. Some soap and water in a squirt bottle will give off big bubbles, or go to a mechanic with a water vapor machine and have them hook it up. I've never heard of a DSM IC getting a hole in it, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

My guess, you have a slit in a rubber pipe. Those are trickly because when it's under idle they can be self sealing, when under boost, they are not.

yea i have been all over every hose that holds pressure, with soapy water looking for bubbles, and I have found just small leaks, I seal off different sections of the system, then blow into the hoses and listen, suprisingly it only took the pressure of me blowing to hear air escaping, all the intercooler hoses are secure and dont seem to be leaking. It really sounds like there is a hole in it, its so frustrating im contemplating buying a front mount, just so I can replace all the piping and be done with this.
