Ok Guys Tell Me What I Have

Dont worry it's not a disease....Well kinda.. I just bought my 17 yr old son a 95 eagle talon awd turbo w/automatic tranny....It needs a tranny..So tell me what I have and what I need.....I will be doing the swap myself....I have done stuff like this before but am not an expert...I want to keep it stock so no tranny upgrades or motor mods....I have heard numbers like 4g63 is that my tranny and motor numbers or something....Well any help would be appreciated....

4g63 is the engine code

if the transmission is the only thing wrong with it you will only need transmission fluid, transfercase fluid, and obviously tools. dont be suprised if you get broken bolts and such either....

the 2 cars are identical, only difference is appearance thats it.

No, if you mean a Turbo or a AWD. The fwd and awd are different.

Also, what was not mentioned is that in a '95 up (2G) car, 3 of the 4 drivetrain mounts are directly attached to the transmission. You will either need to fully support the engine from above and below or pull out the entire combo.If not the motor will try to drop.

I have found that there are 2 easy ways to do this. If the car is on the ground, take out the motor/trans as a combo. If you have access to a lift, chain the motor from above, and use a trans jack and take the tranny out from below.

Thanks lag That info is going to come in handy....The car is both turbo and awd and so is the 95 eclipse so the trannies should match up perfctly...Thanks again for all the help....

yes trannys are identical ( 95 eclipse gsx and 95 talon tsi awd)

since your goin down under, check for crankshaft play, make sure you dont have crankwalk...
